It is better for people to be selfish.wondering how?As Ayn rand says everyone has a selfish motive behind most of their altruistic deeds.What i would like to say is that People who pursue their own intellectual interests for purely personal reasons ie with selfish attitude are more likely to benefit the rest of the world . If each of the person living in this world have the same attitude the world in fact will become a better place to live in. This might sound a bit odd.But the fact remains if each of us are selfish in our motives and use our intelligence for our own progress it will automatically result in progress of the country.There will ne no need to think of public good as everyone is working for themselves rather than expecting somebody with public interest to do it for them.Thus people with selfishness in terms of intellectual capability and thirst for success are infact better than are people who try to act for the public good.
