The Religious Connection

Religion as a political issue is not localized to India. It has found acceptance even in USA. A couple of days back John McCain and Barack Obama who represent the Republican and the Democratic parties correspondingly have participated in a debate which was predominantly religious in nature. Both of them voiced their opinions pertinent to a variety of contentious issues ranging from abortion rights to gay marriages. Both of them spoke on the same lines which is understandable owing to the fact that their prime motive was to impress the conservative voters. While Mr.McCain was terse and was comprehendable Mr.Obama impressed with his trademark dynamism. However different their approaches be the audience heard what they wanted to hear. But will the same duo say the same thing when confronted by voters on the liberal end of the spectrum? Only time can answer this question.
